Is this an AI detector?+
No, and deliberately so. AI detectors claim to tell you whether a machine wrote something, they are unreliable, and they get used to accuse people. This tool makes a much narrower claim: these specific patterns are present in this text. It names the exact words that triggered every finding so you can judge them yourself.
Can it prove a comment was written by AI?+
No. A careless human writes "Great post!" too, and a careful prompt avoids every pattern here. Treat a clean result as "the obvious tells are absent," not as proof of anything.
Why does LinkedIn care?+
Since May 2026 LinkedIn has suppressed generic AI comments — showing them to connections only and cutting them from the feed. Reporting at the time noted the target is genericness rather than AI use as such, which is why this tool flags interchangeable filler rather than trying to sniff out a model.
Why is unicode bold flagged in comments but fine in posts?+
In a post it's a normal styling choice, since LinkedIn offers no native rich text. In a comment, 2026 guides flag it as an AI-tool fingerprint — and screen readers either spell it out character by character or skip it entirely.
