LinkedIn Interaction Disclosure

CommentLikeMe is a writing assistance tool designed to help users craft thoughtful LinkedIn comments.

Data We Collect

We collect the following types of data:

Account Data

• Email address: Used for account authentication and communication
• Password: Stored as a secure hash (we never store plain-text passwords)

Profile Data (User-Provided)

• Name, job title, company
• Skills and years of experience
• Location and open-to-work status
• Writing style preferences (tone, length, emoji usage)

Usage Data

• Generated comments and interaction history (for your personal history feature)
• Timestamps of when comments were generated
• Feature usage patterns (anonymized for product improvement)

Temporary Data (Not Stored)

• LinkedIn post content (processed in real-time, not stored on our servers)
• Post author information (used only for context during generation)

How We Handle Your Data

• Authentication: We use Supabase Auth for secure account management
• AI Processing: Post content and your profile context are sent to AI services (OpenRouter, Google Gemini) to generate relevant comments. These services process data in real-time and do not retain it
• Local Storage: Your preferences and session data are stored locally in your browser's Chrome storage for performance
• Encryption: All data transmitted between your browser and our servers uses TLS encryption. API keys you provide are encrypted at rest

Data Storage & Retention

• Storage Location: Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure (hosted on AWS)
• Account Data: Retained as long as your account is active
• Comment History: Stored for your reference; you can delete individual entries or your entire history at any time
• Session Data: Stored locally in your browser; cleared when you sign out
• After Account Deletion: All associated data is permanently deleted within 30 days

Data Sharing

We share data only with the following third parties, solely to provide our service:

• AI Service Providers (OpenRouter, Google Gemini): Receive post content and your profile context to generate comments. They do not store or use this data for training
• Supabase: Our database and authentication provider

We do NOT:

• Sell your data to third parties
• Share data for advertising or marketing purposes
• Use your data to train AI models
• Share your LinkedIn credentials or private messages with anyone

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View all data we have about you through your dashboard
• Correction: Update your profile information at any time
• Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data from your account settings
• Data Portability: Request a copy of your data by contacting us
• Withdraw Consent: Uninstall the extension at any time to stop all data processing

What We Access on LinkedIn

• Visible Post Content: When you click the AI Comment button, we read the text of the post currently visible on your screen to generate relevant suggestions.
• Your Settings: Your preferences (tone, length, persona) stored locally in your browser.

What We DO NOT Access

• Your LinkedIn login credentials
• Your LinkedIn connections or network
• Private messages or InMail
• Profile data of other LinkedIn users
• Any data when you're not actively using the extension

User Control

• All actions are user-initiated: Comments are only generated when you click the button
• Manual posting required: You must review and manually post any comment
• No background activity: The extension only activates when you interact with it

Third-Party Services

• AI suggestions are generated using secure API connections (OpenRouter, Google Gemini)
• No LinkedIn data is shared with third parties for marketing or advertising

Compliance

This extension operates as a writing assistant similar to grammar checkers and text editors. It does not automate LinkedIn actions or violate LinkedIn's User Agreement regarding automated tools.
